The misfiring New Zealand sevens side have called up two uncapped players for the next leg in South Africa after a disappointing showing in Dubai.

Taranaki's Kylem O'Donnell and Wellington's George Tilsley will join the squad for the third leg of the World Series in Port Elizabeth this weekend.

O'Donnell, brother of Chiefs wing and former NZ sevens rep Declan, will make his debut after replacing provincial teammate James Marshall in the squad.

NZ now trail series leaders Fiji by 10 points after two rounds.

Meanwhile, Fiji will open their campaign in South Africa against Portugal on Friday at 10.37pm.
