NZ 7s kicks off today
Host New Zealand is the defending champion and currently tied with Fiji on 51 points in the IRB Sevens standing and they have the most experience side in this competition.
Captain DJ Forbes is already feeling the heat knowing that for the other team visiting their capital city Wellington with only one mission in mind that is to deny them a back to back win in their home turf.
For our boys they last tasted the win two years ago in 2010 with only Emosi Vucago and Osea Kolinisau the survivor from that team.
Captain Setefano Cakau last win in NZ was in 2006 but coach Etuate Waqa said the goal for them is the same as there last outing.
Meanwhile Flying Fijians Rugby World Cup most successful coach and former Wallabies 7s and 15s rep, Ilivasi Tabua will be a guest in a talk back show on our sister station Viti-FM before and after Fiji’s pool games.
Fiji will play Argentina at 12.44pm in their first pool match of the New Zealand Sevens.
At 3.40pm they will take on Tonga and in their last pool match Fiji will play Wales at 8.12pm.
