The Digicel Fiji 7's team's proud record of having won in the Hong Kong 7's the most times will always lift their performance despite being in 3rd position in the current IRB 7's series points standing.
Those were the words of New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens ahead of the opening pool game on Friday night.
Since 1978, Fiji has won in Hong Kong 12 times while New Zealand is second with 9 wins.
Tietjens said just like New Zealand, Fiji along with Samoa and South Africa know how important this weekend's Hong Kong 7's is to their IRB 7's campaign.
He added that whichever team wins in Hong Kong will put a lot of pressure on the other teams taking part in the series.
The Fiji 7's team will play against Malaysia at 9.14pm Friday in their opening pool game.
