New South Wales have kept their hopes of claiming the State of Origin title alive after a hard fought 16-12 win over Queensland last night.

Former Fiji Bati players Akuila Uate and Jarryd Hayne featured for New South Wales but they were closely watched by the Queensland defense.

Hayne helped in setting up a try by cleverly kicking ahead after the ball was being stripped by Johnathan Thurston.

Queensland won the first Origin game 18-10 and they been winning the origin series six years in a row.

The third and deciding state of Origin match will be played next month.
