The format for the National Soccer League competition will remain the same for next season.

This means that 10 teams will be playing in the Super Premier division on a home and away basis while competition in the Premier division will remain the same.

Sponsors of the league, CJ Patel Pacific General Manager, Pranil Singh pushed for only top eight teams to play in the Super Premier league next season, but this could not go through as majority of the delegates present at the Fiji Football AGM did not support the motion.

Singh told Fijivillage they will now have to decide whether to continue sponsoring the league or resort to sponsoring some other sports.

Singh added soccer in the country is heading backwards.

Meanwhile, the Babasiga Lions coach, Bal Sanju Reddy said they will be there to defend and win the title.

Labasa will take on Navua 3.30pm today at Govind Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
