The Native Land Trust Board is expected to comment later today after an eviction notice issued to Fulton College in Tailevu by the landowners, the Yavusa Salatu of Nakalawaca village.

A statement from the Yavusa Salatu said that a decision was made at a meeting held on Saturday the 29th, to issue the eviction notice to the Australasian Conference Association Limited (ACAL), the operators of Fulton College at its office in Tamavua.

The landowners said this is in light of the frustration felt by them at the delay tactics of the Native Land Trust Board and the ACAL in getting their appeal heard by the Fiji Court of Appeal.

The Appeal was to be lodged after the High court ruled in July 2007 that the NLTB had failed to obtain the consent of the landowners of the Yavusa Salatu, before granting a lease to ACAL back in 1975, and thus had required the NLTB to obtain the landowners consent accordingly.

NLTB General Manager Semi Tabakanalagi is expected to comment later this morning.
