The Native Land Trust Board wants a review of the Local Government Act to ensure that landowners get a fair return of the land used by municipal councils.

This comes after Suva City Council Administrator Chandu Umaria revealed that 12.8 million dollars rate arrears is owed to the council out of which 800,000 dollars is owed by those staying on NLTB land.

Speaking to Fijivillage, NLTB General Manager Alipate Qetaki said NLTB is concerned with the method of rating for all municipalities adding that they are talking with the line ministry to address the issue.
