After a number of officials were charged and prosecuted for abusing their powers over the past years, the Native Lands Trust Board (NLTB) has now set in place systems to ensure that all complaints against their officials are thoroughly investigated.
NLTB General Manager Alipate Qetaki said over the last decade the image of the NLTB has been tarnished by officials who are only looking after their own interests, however, they are now cleaning house.
Qetaki said serious offences will be handed to the police for further investigation which was evident as two former employees were prosecuted last year by FICAC for breaching their terms of employment.
