While there may be a changing perception amongst critics regarding the independence of the judiciary in Fiji, various NGO's maintain the need for an Independent Inquiry into the Judiciary.
After outgoing High Court Judge Justice Gerad Winter told Village News earlier today that he believes that the independence and integrity of the Judiciary in Fiji remains intact, Fiji Human Right's Commissioner Shamima Ali said it is encouraging.
And PCPI Director Angie Heffernan maintains the need to look into the independence of the judiciary in Fiji.
Justice Winter said while many people continue to question the independance of High Court judges in the country since December 5th, 2006, the nation can be rest assured that there is no interference from anyone in the process of law in Fiji.
