A Non-Government Organization is calling on farmers and other interested people with land in the western division to plant certain fruits to earn some money.

The Executive Director of FRIEND Sashi Kiran said they have ventured into making guava and citrus jam as FRIEND turned 7 last Friday.

She said local fruit jam has been in demand and now they are waiting to see how many bottles of jam are sold locally before getting into exporting the product.

She said local farmers planting guava and citrus will benefit from the project.
