In its effort to overcome the rising cost of production, the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development is working on recollecting and recycling its used pickle and chutney jars from customers.
FRIENDs director Sashi Kiran said the glass jars used for the products are brought from Asia and with the devaluation of the Fiji dollar, the prices of the jars have gone up.
She added that this will have an impact on the income of the producers.
She added that they are also trying to boost the morale of the youths so that they are able to earn a living for themselves.
