A new NGO, The Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji, or FEN-C-FIJI has been formed to cater to the needs of children in the country.

Chairman of the Interim Organizing Committee John Samy said the purpose of this non-governmental organization is to provide education and related support to help the poorest of the poor families in Fiji.

Samy said it was an idea born out of the Charter Process to help kids who are in desperate need adding the government has given the NGO $200,000 seed money.

Samy said they will be organizing fundraising efforts and writing to individuals and business houses as a way of financing the organization.

Trustee, Loraine Tevi said even if a person were to give $1, it would go along way adding that helping decrease poverty is on us.
