This is what CEO for Save the Children's Fund Chandra Shekar is advising the public.
Save the Children's Fund has started the initiative of helping schools start small scale gardens while advising schools to not only rely on monetary help all the time.
Shekar said gardens that already exist in schools should be used to provide vegetables and crops to cater for school lunches apart from just being a form of training for students.
The Ministry of Education has said efforts can be made through schools in creating awareness in the utilization of soil for health and also in the reduction of poverty and hunger.
