In an effort to make this Christmas a joyful one for some families in Tavua, a non government organisation, the Gold Foundation will be distributing food parcels to them.
The Tavua Mayor and the Chairman of the Foundation Board, Chandra Singh said many families are still finding it hard to make ends meet after the closure of the Vatukoula Gold mine and the Foundation has decided to help these families so they can enjoy the festive season with others as well.
The food parcel contains a bag of rice, chicken, juice, biscuits, cakes and other items consumed during the Christmas season.
