The Fiji Human Rights Commissioner supports the move for the formation of a Fiji Human Rights Council as mentioned by the former Vice President Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi in New Zealand two weeks ago.
Commissioner and FWCC Coordinator Shamima Ali said in lieu of the statement by Ratu Joni, she supports such a call as the current Fiji Human Rights Commission has failed the Fiji people.
The FHRC Director and chairperson Dr Shaista Shameem had earlier dismissed talks of a Fiji Human Rights Council saying it was rubbish.
