Marie Stopes International - Pacific is bracing itself for a surge in people that will be accessing their open door health services this month.

The non-government organization (NGO), set up in the country in 2002, is solely setup to see that the public has access to HIV and STI counseling along with cheap health checkups.

Project Manager for the NGO Atunaisa Cokanivalu said the organization has noted that during festive months, people go to the clinic for STI and health checkups.

Speaking to the representatives from various youths clubs and provinces, Cokanivalu revealed the highest number of people that have accessed their centre was during the Hibiscus Festival last year where 173 of the 460 cases tested positive for HIV and they are gearing up for this year's Hibiscus.
