The National Fire Authority has recorded another fire which is the third in two days caused by an electrical short circuit.

The NFA said this fire at Vitogo Paipai place in Lautoka last night partially destroyed a three-bedroom house and this has been the 3rd fire in past two days resulting from short circuit originating from the sitting room.

Fire fighters managed to contain the fire and stopped it from spreading to the rest of the home.

NFA is once again calling on home owners to have their house electrical wirings checked by FEA certified electrical contractors or electricians to avoid such unfortunate incidents occurring.

It is also calling on people to routinely check the electrical wiring for their property including appliances, not to allow children to play with or around electrical appliances like space heaters, irons and hair dryers, to Keep clothes, curtains and other potentially combustible items at least three feet from all heaters.
