Residents in the North will have another reason to smile this Festive season as the National Fire Authority today received a new smoke house that will be used to raise awareness on what to do in case there is a fire.
The Smoke House donated to the NFA by the Leadership Fiji class of 2007, will be the first of its kind that will be stationed in the North and NFA Chief Executive, Jone Koroi said this is a big boost for their awareness campaigns.
Meanwhile, Class of 2007 member and TFL Human resource manager, Vanessa Kilner said their class decided to donate the smokehouse valued at 20 thousand dollars to NFA after the increase in the reported cases of fires and deaths as a result of fires.
Under the Leadership Fiji, a class has to come up with a community project to assist.
The new smoke house will be sent to Vanua Levu in a few weeks time.
