The National Fire Authority has been challenged to reduce structural fires by 50 percent by next year.
National Fire Authority had it's 2011 Strategic Business Plan workshop yesterday where Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Environment Minister Colonel Samuela Saumatua urged the authority to utilise their resources.
Acting Chief Fire Officer, Jone Koroi said it is a huge challenge for the authority however they will ensure that there is a decrease in structural fires.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that so far there has been total of 168 structural fires and 11 commercial property fires.
