The National Fire Authority is not ruling out any other sources of ignition that could have caused the fire in Lautoka that claimed the life of a four year old boy.
Initial reports stated that the fire could have been started by the brother of the deceased who was playing with matches at that time, however Chief Fire Officer Mark Reid said that initial results were handed out without any following internal and external communication protocols.
Meanwhile, Reid said that with the many families and friends meeting today to celebrate Diwali, extra care needs to be taken.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Teachers Union said that Diwali comes with so many messages and hopes that there would be positive outcomes after the political leaders meeting that was held yesterday.
General Secretary Agni Deo Singh said as the meeting was conducted a day before Diwali, he is hoping that the leaders will put their differences aside and work together to bring back democracy in the country.
He added that meeting was an indication that the leaders are now going in the right direction.
