Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase who hails from Mavana in Vanuabalavu stressed that the NCBBF's statement that 53 percent of the people in Vanuabalavu have supported the draft Charter is misleading.
Qarase said the villages in Vanuabalavu only accepted the sevusevu from the Charter teams.
He said this does not mean that they support the People's Charter.
Meanwhile, the Charter consultation team is expected to visit the islands of Matuku, Moala, Oneata and Tavea this week.
