NCBBF Deliberates on Electoral Reforms
The NCBBF Working Group One on Electoral Reforms, is making a presentation to the Council on proposed changes to the electoral system from feedback received through consultations conducted so far by the NCBBF PR Team, which has been visiting communities around the country.
The Group will also make a presentation on proposed criteria to be set for aspiring candidates and a proposed Code of Conduct for Candidates who want to stand in the next general elections.
Head of the NCBBF Technical and Support Secretariat John Samy earlier confirmed, the NCBBF has accelerated work on its mandate to change the electoral system and various proposals are expected to be endorsed by the council over the next two days.
The NCBBF will then conduct another round of consultations on the draft proposals, which will then be tabled at the proposed political Forum to be facilitated by the UN and Commonwealth Secretariat on the electoral reforms.
The two day NCBBF meeting continues at the Police Academy in Nasova.
