The budget of the National Council for Building A Better Fiji (NCBBF) is only $2.4 million which is tiny compared to the whole government budget of $1.4 billion.

This is one of the issues 16 Fijian NCBBF members have stressed in their 13 page statement on why the indigenous Fijians should support the NCBBF and the Draft People's Charter.

The group which includes, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, Jokapeci Koroi, Adi Finau Tabakaucoro, Reverand Akuila Yabaki, Ratu Filimoni Ralogaivau and Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo amongst others, say the source of NCBBF funding is known and the accountability mechanism through the government system is clear.

They said the demand that all expenditures be revealed to the public is continuous adding that the NCBBF has nothing to be embarrassed about.

The group said critics should direct their demand to the Prime Minister's Office, which is responsible for the accounting of NCBBF finances.
