A competition to highlight the musical talent amongst Pacific Island youths has received one of the most moving entries, a song detailing the three year battle of a brave Tongan girl against a rare form of cancer.

The song titled, "Walk on, Walk strong" written and composed by young Tae Kami, was submitted by her father after she passed away last month.

The competition, Pacific Break, organized by Radio Australia has received entries from around the region and offers unsigned original musicians in the Pacific the chance to play in front of thousands of fans at an annual music festival in Vanuatu in November.

In memory of her brave fight, the organizers will be compiling a music CD consisting of the best entries which will be handed out to select Pacific countries early next year.
