24 year old Netani Moto Nute of Nadonumai appeared before Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku today in a special court sitting in Suva, charged with 3 counts of murder, larceny and unlawful use of motor vehicle of 25 year old taxi driver Murad Buksh.

The court heard between the 24th and 25th of last month, Nute and others stole Buksh's taxi registration LT724 and drove it for their personal use. The accused also stole a taxi meter and mobile phone valued at $399.

No plea was taken today as Nute will have to seek for legal advice before the murder plea is heard at the High Court.

Nute who has a number of previous convictions of larceny is remanded in custody till the 14th September.  

The post mortem of Buksh had revealed that he died of manual strangulation. A piece of rope was also tied around the neck of Buksh when his body was found hanging on a bridge in Veisari.
