A team of 20 officers from Criminal Investigations Department from Suva and Navua and also officers from the Strike Back Team are now investigating the murder of a 19 year old van driver of Navua yesterday.

Director CID, Waisea Vakamocea said that they are following some strong leads and arrests are expected to be made soon.

A 39 year old man saw the victims van parked in an isolated spot with blood inside and reported the matter at the Pacific Harbour Police Post who responded immediately and found the deceased lying about 200 meters away from the van.

There was evidence of stab wounds on the victim’s neck, chest and other parts of his body.

The deceased was last seen with two passengers. Police officers are trying to establish the motive behind the brutal killing.

Police are also calling on for information from members of the public to help them complete their investigations.
