One week away from Diwali and various municipalities around the country are ensuring that household removals by rate payers during their cleanup are quickly removed from the roadside.
Lautoka City Council Special Administrator, Praveen Bala said they had no major cleanup since last year however their contractors are working around the clock to keep the Sugar City clean.
Meanwhile, Natabua resident Mishra Narayan told Fijivillage News that preparations for Diwali are well underway.
Diwali of the Festival of Lights is a time when Hindus around the world do a major clean up of their homes and decorate them to give it a splendid and festive look.
It is commonly celebrated after the return of Lord Rama to his Kingdom Ayodhya following fourteen years of exile in the forest.
