Muliaina to celebrate 100th Test
Mils Muliaina will become just the second All Black to play 100 Tests.
There’s no denying the 31-year-old’s lost more than a yard of pace since he first burst onto the scene in 2003, but Muliaina is a master of reading a game from the back, injects himself expertly into the line and is rock solid in defense.
His team mate and Hooker Kevin Mealamu said the 100th test for Muliana will be a special occasion for the team.
Mealamu also said they are not going to take the Pumas lightly as they are aware of their good forward pack.
Meanwhile, the Wallabies will have to prove they are outstanding all-weather footballers as the anticipated wet and windy conditions during this afternoon’s quarterfinal against the Springboks will play a major role in determining whether they stay at the World Cup or head home tomorrow.
Wallabies captain James Horwill argued they are ready for anything.
Last night, Wales booked their semifinal spot after a 22-10 victory over Ireland and France bounced back from humiliation last week to stun England at Eden Park, winning 19-12 to advance to the World Cup semifinals.
The other quarterfinals this afternoon, Australia will play South Africa in Wellington at 5 and the All Blacks will face Argentina at Eden Park at 7.30.
You can catch the live commentaries of both games, on our sister station, Viti FM with the voice of rugby, Malakai Veisamasama and expert comments from Ilivasi Tabua.
