Mulevoro expected to assume playmaker role
Speaking from his hotel room in Japan this afternoon, Digicel Fiji 7s team coach Alifereti Dere said Mulevoro was training today in the playmaker’s position.
Dere said they also have other options but Mulevoro did really well in Hong Kong especially coming off the bench in the final.
However, Josefa Lilidamu has been called in to replace Tinai.
Lilidamu is currently studying in Japan.
Lilidamu was also in Hong Kong last weekend, playing for the Asia Pacific Brothers team that is coached by Tana Umaga in the 10s tournament.
He played for Nadi Muslim College from 2003 to 2005 and Ratu Navula from 2006 to 2007 before playing for Nadi in 2008.
The wing will join the Digicel Fiji 7s team tonight.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play all its three pool matches of the Japan 7s on Saturday.
First up is South Africa at 1.44pm before meeting Spain at 5.51pm and Portugal at 9.19pm.
The Cup quarters start at 1.28pm Sunday, Cup semis at 5.08pm and the Cup final is at 7.33pm Sunday.
