A nationwide celebration has been programmed for this year's Fiji Day event with major cities Suva, Lautoka, Labasa and Levuka all contributing to the weekend hive of entertainment, excitement and fun.
His Excellency the President, Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu will address the nation at Albert Park after a parade march by the Military Forces followed by the flag raising ceremony and singing of the national anthem.
Senior Officer for Culture and Heritage, Niqa Tuvuki said that students from Gospel High School will perform the re-enactment of the signing of the Deed of Cession.
Meanwhile the theme for Fiji Day celebrations is "Moving Forward Together to Build a Better Fiji".
