Mother’s struggle pays off for brothers
Those were the words of Lolive Ratudradra, the proud mother of Waisea Nayacalevu and Avenisi Vasuinubu, the two Deuba brothers who are currently in the Digicel Fiji team in Japan.
Lolive who is a very religious mother brought up her two sons alone when Waisea was 14 and Avenisi was 13 years old after their dad left them.
She can confidently say that her boys accepted the fact, when only tea is served to them without bread for breakfast but now her two sons can afford to buy their own food of their choice.
The Yasawa woman who now works as a chef at Uprising Resort said she smiles when she watches her boys play and do their best for their country.
She was in tears when she spoke to Fijivillage.
Waisea Nayacalevu scored two mesmerising tries for Fiji in a thrilling final against New Zealand at Happey Valley last week.
Nayacalevu and Vasuinubu will be playing at Prince Chichibu stadium in Japan this weekend as they try to win back to back t for Fiji, an attempt no team has achieved so far in the 2011 and 2012 World 7s series.
The two brothers have a sister who attends Lomary Seconday School.
Fiji will play France at 3.12pm in its first match this Saturday in the Japan 7s.
