It has been confirmed that the mother and child who were being monitored for the possibility of the H1N1 virus after having flu like symptoms, do not have the influenza.

This has been confirmed by Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora who said they have managed to determine that the flu like symptoms did not have the H1N1 strain.

However, Tora said the Health Ministry continues to closely monitor the prevention and possible spread of the virus adding the Ministry continues to closely monitor the situation around the globe especially with countries close to home.

Meanwhile, confirmed cases of H1N1 has risen to 502 cases in the last 24 hours with all Australian states and territories now having at least one confirmed case.
