A woman and her disabled daughter are homeless after an early morning fire destroyed her house at Boca settlement near Bulileka, Labasa this morning.

The one-bedroom house sustained major damage in the fire as all the household items were completely destroyed but no injuries were reported.

Preliminary fire investigations suggest the fire started in the kitchen as a result of cooking left unattended.

National Fire Authority's Acting Station Officer Labasa, Kalisito Raduva has stressed for the cook to stay in the kitchen until the food is cooked.
