Victoria Police confirmed Sofina Nikat who is 22-years-old and has links to Fiji has been charged with one count of murder.

9 News is reporting that police say she made a full confession in a special court sitting yesterday.

Nikat originally told police she was walking through Olympic Park on Saturday morning when a man pushed her to the ground and snatched Sanaya from her pram.

Her body was found partially submerged in Darebin Creek.

Sanaya Sahib had also been treated by paramedics at her home one week before her body was found in the creek.
