Nausori Police have charged the 22 year old mother with two counts of murder who allegedly threw her two babies into the Rewa River on Monday night.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern, ASP Ramesh Chand confirms that the post mortem of babies has already been conducted and the mother was charged last night.
The woman is expected to appear in the Nausori Magistrates court later this morning.
The bodies of a two month old baby and a 1 year 10 month old baby were found floating in the river by Police on Tuesday afternoon after conducting a search.
The woman, who is from Khalsa Road, is believed to have had a heated argument with her husband after which she allegedly threw her babies into the river.
