The mother of five year old Shavneet Kumar who died after being in a coma for eight days said they have been denied justice after the Public Service Commission announced that two doctors who were found guilty of negligence will be fined.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Radhika Kumar stressed they are not satisfied with the decision taken by PSC as the penalty should have been harsher.
PSC Chairman, Rishi Ram said they will issue a statement tomorrow morning in which the full details of the fine will be revealed.
Earlier today, Health Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr Lepani Waqatakirewa confirmed Doctors Luke Nasendra and Teresa Lum have been found guilty of negligence during and after Kumar's surgery.
He adds they will now decide on what sort of fine will be imposed on the two doctors who are still carrying on with their normal duties.
