A 28-year-old mother of one from Vatuwaqa appeared in court today for larceny.

Shashi Kanta pleaded guilty before Magistrate Angela Wati for stealing a rice cooker from a Suva motel.

The court heard that Kanta and her partner spent a night at the motel. When they checked out she hid the rice cooker, valued at $80, in a bag.

Today she expressed remorse at her action but was told to pay $25 fine and bound over for $300 on good behavior for 12 months.
