The Ministry of Health is pleading with relatives to take the bodies of their loved ones as the two CWM mortuaries are full.

The two mortuaries have a total of 24 berths and both are full.

Officials said while they sympathize with members of the public, they have a responsibility to ensure spaces are available all the time.

The Ministry had put in place a guideline that states bodies can only be kept in the morgue for three days.

It states if there are no spaces available, they will send the bodies to either the Navua Hospital morgue or the Wainibokasi Hospital morgue.

The Ministry is hoping people will be considerate and help them keep morgue places for others to use.
