He is confident of a good run in the 100 metres finals this afternoon.
Tabakaucoro beat his closest rival Lepani Naivalu of Suva Grammar who beat him in the Suva Zone 2.
Meanwhile Salote Niulevu of Suva Grammar School recorded a good time in the Senior Girls 100m heats after she finished at 12.63 seconds.
Niulevu said she is looking forward to the finals tonight.
The Senior Girls 100 metre record stands at 12.16 set by Makelesi Tumalevu of Suva Grammar School last year.
