The Ministry of Indigenous Affairs will give more time to the remaining provinces that have not handed in their submissions on the proposed village by-laws.

Ministry's Deputy Permanent Secretary, Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga when contacted this morning said he understands that some provinces are located in the outer islands like the Lau and the Lomaiviti group so they will need more time.

Kurusiga said his team is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss on a confirmed time frame as to when all submissions are to be handed in.

He added provinces like Bua, Kadavu, Macuata, Rewa, Naitasiri, Nadroga have handed in their submissions while Ba is waiting for Yasawa Island to complete their visit.

Kurusiga said he has not sighted all the submissions that has acknowledged the efforts of the villagers who have come up with opinions like, stop drinking kava at 11pm, no smoking whenever there is a function in the village, dress code must be respected, no rowdy actions in the villages.
