More than $7M has been deposited in the accounts of 308 schools yesterday as part of the second batch of the free education grant.

Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Dr Brij Lal said this includes 240 primary and 68 secondary schools.

Dr Lal said head teachers, principals and school managements of the eligible schools should make necessary arrangements to prepare their schools for classes as there are only 13 days left for school to open.

723 schools have received the free education grant so far and the final batch of the grants will be released on tomorrow.
