Save the Children Fiji has assisted more than 300 schools and the students who were badly affected by the flood that affected most parts of the country last month.
Students of Talaiya Muslim Primary School in Ba were recipients of such assistance.
Head-teacher Imtaj Mohammad told Fijivillage that they received $3700 from Save the Children adding that they also received donations from other organizations through which they have also been providing lunch to the students for the past two weeks.
Another school which received assistance was Xavier College and principal Brother George said that 48 students from their school have received assistance in terms of bus fares, lunches, stationery and school fees.
Meanwhile, Save the Children Fiji chief executive officer Chandra Shekhar said they are still receiving requests from other schools for assistance that were not directly affected by the flood.
