The Youth and Sports Ministry has collected more than $13 million in sports sponsorships under the 200 percent tax rebate initiative since 2004.

Principal Sports Officer, Sakaraia Tuva said the amount was collected from over 20 local business organizations and beneficiaries have included 13 major sporting organizations and 35 minor sports organizations.

Tuva said the Tappoo Group of Companies tops the list of sponsors from 2004 to 2007, spending $3.9 million under the initiative.

Flour Mills of Fiji Limited is the second most generous donor under having spent a total of $2.1 million while a total of $1.5 million was donated by Colonial Fiji Limited in the last four years.
