Two raids were conducted yesterday afternoon by the Police Drugs Unit in Sigatoka and more than $100,000 worth of dried leaves and marijuana plants were confiscated.

Officer In Charge Drugs, ASP Sakeo Ganivatu confirms the first raid was conducted at 3.30 yesterday afternoon in Togovere, Sigatoka where Police officers uprooted 97 marijuana plants worth $85,000.

The farm belongs to a 23 year old man and has been taken into custody.

The second raid was conducted at 6.30pm last night, when Police Officers searched a vehicle at Kulukulu, Sigatoka and confiscated dried leaves believed to be marijuana worth $25,000.

A 27 year old man who was driving the vehicle has been taken into custody.
