More than 100 Fijian students studying in India-Jha
Professor Prabhakar Jha said that more than a hundred Fijian students are currently studying in India adding that they would like to encourage Fijian students to make use of the opportunity to develop their personality and contribute to the development of the nation.
Jha said that the educational exchange programs constitute an important instrument for the Indian Government to reach out to young people and students for optimum generation of goodwill.
While commemorating the International Students Day and celebrating the 121st birth anniversary of the first Indian Education minister, Maulana Abu Kalam Azad at the Indian High Commission last night, Professor Jha commented that the Indian government does not have any discrimination in choosing the candidates for the scholarships.
Meanwhile, the former judge, Nazhat Shameem who spoke on the philosophy of Abu Kalam firmly believes that as a Muslim herself, she sees around her the tragic consequences of a belief in Muslim nationalism and exclusivity.
She said that the future of our nations must be based on sounder foundations than an egotistical and single minded belief that the way of one culture and belief is the only way.
