More supplies for Hurricane victims
The Japanese Government has provided supplies consisting of 100 tents and 500 blankets worth $190,000 in total, including air freight.
In a statement, the Government and people of Japan hope that with the strong determination and resilience of the people of Fiji, combined with the support of the State and the international community, Fiji will be able to make a quick recovery from the suffering and destruction caused by Hurricane Tomas.
Meanwhile, in an effort to ensure good hygiene practices in Hurricane Tomas affected areas, Colgate Palmolive donated 60 cases of Pacific Laundry Bars and 50 cases of Protex Bath Soap to the Ministry of Health.
The donation was handed over by company boss Keith Shortfall to the Deputy Secretary for Public Health, Dr Joe Koroivueta.
The ministry had asked for the donation as part of its rehabilitation work.
The soap will be distributed next week.
