Looking at the Fijivillage medal tally, there is a very close tussle in the boys division with Dudley High School leading with 7 Gold 1 Silver and 1 Bronze, second is Nasinu Secondary with 6 Gold 4 Silver and 4 Bronze in third place is Suva Muslim College with 5 Gold and 1 Silver.
In the Girls Division Wainimakutu Secondary School from Namosi leads with 9 Gold 4 Silver and 4 Bronze, second is Suva Zone 1 defending champions, Ballantine Memorial School with 5 Gold 8 Silver and 10 Bronze and third is Assemblies of God with 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 1 Bronze.
A total of 6 Suva Zone 1 records have been broken so far at the Zone meet that is currently underway at the TFL National Stadium.
The first record was broken in the Open Girls 3000m where Malaia Ranadi of Wainimakutu Secondary in Namosi set a new time of 11 minutes 26 sec breaking the old time of 11 minutes 40 seconds.
In the 3000m Open Boys, Karalo Usaia also of Wainimakutu Secondary also finished the race with a new time of 9 minutes 58 sec, breaking the old time of 10 min 25 seconds.
The longest standing record in Suva Zone 1 was broken in the sub junior boys 1,500m by Suva Muslim College athlete, Zafar Afral Dean, where he broke the 23 year old record, where he set a new record time of 4 minutes 39.02 seconds.
The 4th record broke was in the Junior Girls 400m heats by Wainimakutu Secondary school student Maratina Anasa.
Another record was broken in the Junior Girls shot put where Susie Tutika of Mahatma Ghandi Memorial School with a new record of 11.17m.
The 6thth record came in the Senior Boys Javelin, where Semi Turaga of LDS, set a new Record of 63.35m breaking the old record of 54.89m.
Currently underway is the finals in the 4x400m and the 4x100m.
