The Lands Ministry is now working hand-in-hand with the Fiji Institute of Technology to bring in more qualified surveyors into the civil service.
Lands Permanent Secretary Maria Matavewa said the Ministry currently has 20 surveyors and the number is not enough to handle the workload that is required.
Matavewa also confirmed the five surveyors who retired from the Ministry two weeks ago have been retained.
