The Ministry of Education has for the first time completed a comprehensive curriculum that begins from Year K or Kindergarten.

The Interim Minister for Education Netani Sukanaivalu highlighted at an Education Minister's Forum in New Zealand last month that a lot of reforms and programs have been initiated and implemented for the enhancement of education beginning from the early stages of childhood.

He added that this project was made possible through the assistance of both the Australian and New Zealand Government under the PRIDE project where Early Childhood Education Consultants from Australia had assisted in the enhancement of the Fiji Education Sector Programme.

Sukanaivalu went on to say that through the assistance of the European Union and Australia, they were able to upgrade the ECE programmes and the infrastructure at the Lautoka Teacher's College.
