More people taken into custody
Assistant Police Commissioner Crime Nazir Ali confirms that around 11 people have been taken in so far and refused to comment further.
Village news has received confirmation that SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai was taken into custody at around 1:30 this afternoon while he was attending a church service at Adi Cakabau School for 7th formers.
Eyewitnesses have told Village that a military officer and a police officer asked that Kinivuwai be called outside during the service. They say, Kinivuwai came out and spoke to the two officers before being driven away in a police vehicle. It is yet to be confirmed where he has been taken.
Village news has also received confirmation from family members, that former CRW Soldier, Daniele Koroi was taken into custody last night by the Police/ Military Operation team and is yet to return home.
Earlier today, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni confirmed that Naitasiri High Chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata and businessman Ballu Khan are being questioned in relation to an alleged plot to assassinate Commodore Bainimarama, some members of the Interim Government and some senior military officers.
He revealed that the Fiji Police, through the assistance of certain government agencies have been monitoring the movements of various people believed to be involved in the plot.
Commodore Teleni also said the use of arms and explosives was imminent in the plot.
The Police Commissioner also confirms that some neighbouring governments may be involved in providing financial support to the course of those planning to carry out the assassinations.

Commodore Teleni stresses that the police and military actions were necessary to avoid instability and their effort is a deterrent and to interrupt the plan and cycle before reaching maturity.
He has assured the people of Fiji, that the current situation is well under control and the security forces, the Police and the Military will ensure that the safety and security of the people of the nation will remain paramount.
Ratu Inoke Takiveikata and Ballu Khan were taken into custody yesterday. Police confirm that Khan is currently admitted at Hospital after he complained of feeling sick overnight.
He remains under police guard at the hospital, while Ratu Inoke is still detained at CPS.
Security is tight around the Central Police Station with the road leading to the station cordoned off.
Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni when contacted this afternoon said he will issue a statement in relation to the case tomorrow morning.
